City Outfitters is launching Nuuly Thrift through an iPhone app this fall. It is going to allow the retailer’s prospects to promote their second-hand clothes to different customers, much like a service provided by Poshmark. City Outfitters will accumulate a fee on resales. “Our job is to develop,” stated David Hayne, president of Nuuly and chief know-how officer for City Outfitters. “From a thrift standpoint, we all know that if we don’t present the platform it’s not going to maintain sellers from promoting on different platforms. These secondhand experiences are occurring whether or not we’re enjoying in them or not.”
