The AMC+ show Mayfair Witches arrived in 2023, and AMC’s growing Immortal Universe has been busy developing its Anne Rice television world, dropping lots of exciting hints for Mayfair Witches season 2. AMC took up the mantle of adapting the work of legendary horror and fantasy author Anne Rice for television in 2022, starting with Rolin Jones’ Interview with the Vampire. Anne Rice’s interlinking works ensure crossover potentialbetween Immortal Universe shows.

Mayfair Witches season 2 will continue to feature Alexandra Daddario as the main character, witch and neurosurgeon Rowan Mayfair. Rowan’s adventures so far have led her through AMC’s adaptation of Anne Rice’s The Witching Hour, the first book in her Lives of the Mayfair Witches series. Season 2 is set to explore book two, Lasher, featuring Jack Huston as the book’s eponymous character, ushering in the potential for lots more Immortal Universe connections.

9 Ciprien Grieve’s Season 2 Arc May Support Interview With The Vampire

Ciprien Grieve May Become More Important

Mayfair Witches season 1 introduced its original character Ciprien Grieve, who may end up triggering spiraling Immortal Universe connections that influence season 2. Ciprien Grieve seemed to be a replacement for Anne Rice character Michael Curry on the show, although he also assumed some of the roles taken up by Anne Rice character Aaron Lightner. Judging from this, Grieve may end up in Interview with the Vampire.

Interview with the Vampire
season 3 is expected to come out sometime in 2025.

Michael Curry had a part to play in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles book series, dipping into the arc that Rowan shared with Lestat. Towards the end of the book series, Michael was romantically involved with Rowan Mayfair, but their relationship was facing vampire-related threats. If Mayfair Witches really does intend to replace Michael Curry with Ciprien Grieves throughout the duration of the show, Grieves could be in for a bumpy ride with Interview with the Vampire characters.

8 The Talamasca Can Get Information On The Taltos From Mayfair Witches

The Talamasca May Need The Mayfair Witches

By the end of Interview with the Vampire season 2, the show had finished locking its character Raglan James into the narrative, creating a Talamasca character that may appear in Mayfair Witches. While Interview with the Vampire ended with Louis finding peace with his vampire nature and Lestat starting a new chapter, the fate of Raglan James was more mysterious. His next appearance could well be in Mayfair Witches season 2.

Mayfair Witches
season 2 will premiere sometime in 2025.

The Talamasca were a secret society in Anne Rice’s world that investigated the paranormal, and AMC has a new Talamasca show in development, so the likelihood of Talamasca characters crossing into Mayfair Witches is high. Especially when Mayfair Witches’ mysterious, supernatural Lasher is of a species that the Talamasca may have to look into. Anne Rice readers will know that Lasher is a Taltos, which the Talamasca dealt with in the books.

7 The Talamasca Member Michael Curry May Still Join Mayfair Witches

Anne Rice Character Michael Curry May Join The Cast

Although Ciprien Grieves appears to be Michael Curry’s replacement in AMC’s Immortal Universe, there are plenty more seasons of Mayfair Witches to go, so this may not remain the case. Michael Curry is one of the characters that could appear in The Talamasca, Mayfair Witches, or Interview with the Vampire. Curry’s role in Anne Rice’s tenth Vampire Chronicle, Blood Canticle, made sure of that.

Mayfair Witches
season 1 was released on January 8, 2023.

Rowan has got herself romantically intertwined with Ciprien Grieves in Mayfair Witches, but it’s possible that Ciprien Grieves is being used to set up a more complex and profound connection to Michael Curry. Not introduced yet, Curry could be the character that picks up the pieces if Grieves meets an untimely death in Mayfair Witches season 2. This character’s death could motivate Rowan to take control of her own destiny. Alternatively, Curry could appear as a part of Mona Mayfair’s arc in Mayfair Witches season 2.

Mayfair Witches season 2 is coming to AMC in 2025, but the show needs to learn one crucial lesson from Interview with the Vampire if it’s to succeed.

6 Raglan James Is A Talamasca Member That Could Approach The Witches

Interview With The Vampire Set Up Mayfair Witches Season 2

Of all the Interview with the Vampire characters throughout seasons 1 and 2, Raglan James may have been the supporting character with the biggest implications, which could lead to his inclusion in Mayfair Witches. Although not a main character in the show, Raglan James was the main antagonist of The Tale of the Body Thief, the fourth book in Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles. His involvement with Lestat could link him to Rowan Mayfair.

Interview with the Vampire
season 2 was out on May 12, 2024.

The show’s Raglan James has played the role of protagonist on the sidelines so far, helping perhaps the closest thing the show has to a hero, Daniel Molloy, discover the truth about vampires. If Raglan James goes on to play his canonical role in Interview with the Vampire, he will be crossing paths with the vampire Lestat de Lioncourt. Lestat, of all vampires, may have the biggest connection to Rowan Mayfair.

5 David Talbot Is A Prominent Talamasca Member With Ties To Merrick

David May Appear In Mayfair Witches

Anne Rice fans will know David Talbot well from The Tale of the Body Thief, and David’s complex Vampire Chronicles story could have an impact on Mayfair Witches season 2. David was the older, well-to-do Superior General of the Talamasca in Anne Rice’s books, so he led the Talamasca throughout many of the fiascos they encountered, including those of the Mayfairs. The Talamasca’s key role in Mayfair Witches means that David may join season 2.

David Talbot’s most significant interaction with the Mayfairs in Anne Rice’s world may have been in the seventh Vampire Chronicle, Merrick. The novel’s titular character, Merrick, appeared in Lives of the Mayfair Witches as a supporting character but took the starring role in Merrick. As Mayfair Witches continues adopting the novels, making unpredictable changes, Merrick and David could easily be a Mayfair-Talamasca team that makes it to season 2.

4 Louis De Pointe Du Lac Has Involvement With A Mayfair

Louis May Join Mayfair Witches At Some Point

Louis de Pointe du Lac may be the best Anne Rice character, so his participation in Mayfair Witches season 2 would be welcome. Louis is the main character of the first novel in The Vampire Chronicles, Interview with the Vampire. It is this book that Interview with the Vampire seasons 1 and 2 adapted, giving viewers lots of time to warm to Louis’ character so far. Louis played an important role in book seven, which charted his engagement with Merrick Mayfair, and could lead to his appearance in Mayfair Witches.

Louis interacted with Merrick Mayfair and David Talbot in Merrick in a storyline that didn’t occur until later in the books, so it’s possible that Merrick won’t join Interview with the Vampire until later seasons. If Merrick does join Interview with the Vampire season 3, Merrick and Louis’ future in Mayfair Witches would be as good as sealed, since the series would be remiss to skip a Mayfair covered in other shows. Louis is so key to Merrick’s story that Mayfair Witches may have to bring him in along with Merrick.

3 Mona Mayfair Is One Of Lestat’s Friends

Lestat May Help Welcome Mona To Mayfair Witches

Crossover character Mona Mayfair is one of the main characters of Lasher, the second Lives of the Mayfair Witches book, and should feature in coming seasons of Mayfair Witches. Mona is Rowan’s cousin, and didn’t star in Mayfair Witches season 1. Despite this, Mayfair Witches season 2 is set to adapt Lasher, so Mona’s appearance in season 2 is likely. Mona’s business acumen and promiscuous nature would make her a highlight for Mayfair Witches, while she may be gearing up to appear in their other shows as well.

It is Mona’s crossover appeal that makes her ripe for insertion into Mayfair Witches season 2, with Interview with the Vampire characters playing a big part in her story throughout the Anne Rice world. Lestat de Lioncourt occupies the majority of the plotline in books eight, nine and ten of The Vampire Chronicles, whereby his adventures with Mona and Quinn break into lots of Mayfair Witches territory.

2 Tarquin Blackwood Of The Vampire Chronicles Has Mayfair Ties

Interview With The Vampire May Use Crossover Characters

Tarquin Blackwood, otherwise known as “Quinn“, was the first-person narrator of Anne Rice’s novel Blackwood Farm, and has a huge tie to the Mayfairs that could see him included in Mayfair Witches season 2. Quinn participated in the three-part mini-arc at the end of The Vampire Chronicles that had a huge crossover with Lives of the Mayfair Witches. If Interview with the Vampire season 3 starts alluding to this arc, Quinn may well feature in Mayfair Witches season 2.

…his love for Mona Mayfair stands him in good stead for an appearance in
Mayfair Witches
season 2.

Like Merrick and Louis, Quinn’s role in Interview with the Vampire may not come until later. With Interview with the Vampire season 3 about to adapt books two and three, The Vampire Lestat and The Queen of the Damned, Quinn’s inclusion is a maybe. Whether or not Quinn is in Interview with the Vampire season 3 or future seasons, his love for Mona Mayfair stands him in good stead for an appearance in Mayfair Witches season 2.

1 Lestat De Lioncourt And Rowan Mayfair Share A Destiny

Lestat And Rowan May Meet

Lestat de Lioncourt and Rowan Mayfair are consecutively the main characters of The Vampire Chronicles and The Lives of the Mayfair Witches, and Immortal Universe may start to foreshadow their powerful relationship as early as Mayfair Witches season 2. Lestat and Rowan didn’t get close until near the end of The Vampire Chronicles, so Interview with the Vampire season 3 may not touch on it. However, a moment between Rowan and Lestat would be an intriguing Easter egg, alluding to their connection in the books, and possible future Immortal Universe meetings.

Rowan has to go through her whole arc with Mayfair Witches’ version of Michael Curry, Ciprien Grieves, before she can move on to her liaison with Lestat de Lioncourt. But depending on how Mayfair Witches season 2 plays its Ciprien storyline, Rowan’s relationship with him could be doomed quicker than he hopes. This would make way for Interview with the Vampire’s lead to move into the story and start engaging with Rowan, as he did in the books.
