Gallup: 91% of people who now work some hours remotely hope to continue; while a design survey found home buyers seek out bonus rooms and flex spaces.
NORWALK, Conn. – Working remotely appears to be a lasting trend, with 91% of people who now work at least some of their hours remotely hoping to continue, according to a Gallup poll.
Meanwhile, the Home Design Trends Survey from the American Institute of Architects found that more people are looking for multiple spaces in their home for remote work and conducting virtual meetings. Bonus rooms and flex spaces are now among home buyers’ most sought-after features, surpassing gourmet kitchens or updated bathrooms.
To assist their clients with dealing with these changes, real estate professionals should provide sellers with options, says Will Holmes, head of agent growth at Opendoor.
Research has shown that 71% of sellers are likely to consider selling their home to an iBuyer, so agents can partner with companies like Opendoor to present their clients with choices and help guide them to the best decision to meet their unique needs.
Agents also should leverage digital-first tools and services. These include virtual live, video, and 3D tour options that help buyers quickly assess homes that are listed and determine which homes they want to tour in person.
Agents also can help buyers remove contingencies by working with a company like Opendoor, which makes a cash offer on their current home to enable the buyer to shop for their next home with more certainty.
