Which Stores Are Open and Closed Christmas Eve?

Holiday shopping gets tricky the closer you get to the official holiday. If you are a person who thrives on shopping at the last minute, you know store hours get dicey as well. While many are open late, store hours rapidly change around Christmas Eve. Instead of showing up to the store without this consideration, save time and find out which stores are open and closed on Christmas Eve.

Retailers

Per usual, all of your favorite retailers are also going to be open. That list includes big box stores like Target and Walmart. Additionally, you can shop at places like Sears, Old Navy, Dicks, GameStop, and more. Many of the stores will be open very early for your shop, as early as 6-8 AM. But beware, they are also closing early, with closing times averaging about 6 PM at many stores. There are some exceptions, like Kmart, Walmart, and Target, where store closings are around 10-11 pm.

Grocery Stores

Shopping for gifts isn’t your only last-minute concern. You probably have left a few items out of your Christmas dinner or breakfast shopping list. If you need to head out to the store, I got you covered. Several stores will be open on Christmas Eve for you during this time. Those stores include Aldi’s, Publix, Sam’s, Harris Teeter, and Costco, among other favorite grocers. Be aware that most of these locations will have limited hours, with most closing between 5 and 7 PM.

Restaurants

If you’re looking for places to eat before the big day, you are in luck. All of your favorite chain restaurants should be open on Christmas Eve. If you’re craving a little caffeine rush, Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts will also be available. Local restaurants are going to be on a case-by-case basis. Make sure you reach out to them to ensure they have opening hours suited to your needs before you go.

Christmas is around the corner, and for my last-minute shoppers, you don’t have to be left out in the cold.
