Michelle Kwan Skates Away From Her $2.8M L.A. Home

Michelle Kwan is spinning in a new direction. The retired figure skater is now the U.S. ambassador to Belize.

Kwan has listed her three-bedroom, 2.5-bath home in Los Angeles for $2,899,000.

Kwan was a nine-time U.S. champion and five-time world champion. She won the hearts of many fans as she competed in two Olympics, earning silver and bronze.

After retiring from competitive skating, Kwan moved toward government service. Perhaps her new job in Central America means she has less time for sunny Los Angeles? Here’s a look at what she’s leaving behind.

The lovely, 2,247-square-foot home features tile and hardwood floors, two fireplaces, and a Thermador oven in the kitchen. The attic has been built out, and a dining room was added.

Kwan won the World Championship five times and headlined various ice skating shows.

Prior to her ambassadorship, Kwan worked as an adviser to the U.S.-China Women’s Leadership Exchange and Dialogue. She joined the State Department as a senior adviser for public diplomacy and public affairs.
