Multi-unit Re-Bath franchisee Joel Dichi’s portfolio is expanding with the addition of a new territory, this one covering Miami and surrounding communities in Dade County. Now with three Florida territories, Dichi continues to draw on his extensive business background to succeed.
“I’m super excited to work with Re-Bath,” said Dichi. “I think they have a fantastic team at the corporate level and I have great relationships with the executive team.”
A bathroom remodeling concept, Re-Bath has more than 100 units open across the United States and is working to break into new spaces along the East Coast. Private equity firm TZP Group acquired it in 2021.
Originally from Venezuela, Dichi studied in the U.S. and earned a master’s degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University. When he returned home, he used his education to start his first business, Perfumes Factory, a custom perfume franchise he and his family still operate.
“I spent all my business experience at the beginning of my professional years back home,” said Dichi. “We created a franchise where we created the perfumes in front of our customers.”
Perfumes Factory opened 300 units across several South American countries within 10 years. In 2015, Dichi moved to the U.S. and set about expanding his business ventures by flipping houses and investing in rental homes. Like many, the pandemic became a catalyst for change.
Dichi began looking for franchises and found Re-Bath. The concept fit with his experience in home renovation and already had a few territories open in Florida. He acquired two territories to enter the system and worked quickly to expand the business.
“We actually grew the business almost six times in three years,” said Dichi, who won Re-Bath’s Rookie of the Year honor in 2022. “We brought all our experience in franchising and construction to this new business.”
Those territories in West Palm Beach attracted interest from Miami residents. Seeing Miami as a viable market, Dichi added that territory earlier this year.
So far, the new location has been “challenging, but the fact that we are located in a strategic position makes it a little easier for us,” Dichi said. Able to coordinate in the middle of his three territories, Dichi takes advantage of having support at the ready and designers able to go anywhere. He hopes to develop more Re-Bath territories, but for now is working to establish the brand in Miami. The cost to open a Re-Bath ranges from $276,300 to $609,625.
“We might be also getting one more territory with Re-Bath, again a natural expansion for us just north of West Palm Beach,” said Dichi. “But we need time to develop that, to structure ourselves to cover Miami the way we should be.”
