In September 2023, Tammy posted a TikTok with a caption that read, “@Destiny’s Wax Shop Love them thank you.” In the TikTok video, Tammy is wearing a neutral gray tee shirt and her signature treble clef necklace as she unboxes scented wax melts. Also in the box was a pair of sunflower earrings that Tammy immediately declared were her new favorites.

Tammy has never been lucky in love. After several terrible boyfriends, Tammy finally met a nice guy named Caleb Willingham. The two fell in love and were married during 1000-lb Sisters season 5. Sadly, 41-year-old Caleb died a few short months after the wedding, from complications caused by his extreme obesity.

Her Life Has Changed Completely

In May 2023, Tammy posted a TikTok of herself answering a fan’s question. In the clip, she’s wearing a waffle-textured brown shirt. Over her head hovers a comment from a fan asking, “Y’all are in Kentucky, ain’t ya?” The 1000-lb Sisters star answers in the positive, telling the fan that the Slatons do indeed still live in Kentucky. The post has 27.7K likes and 341 comments.

In the TikTok, Tammy’s still wearing her breathing tube. Before Tammy lost weight, she had so much weight on her torso that her lungs couldn’t expand with the help of an oxygen tank. Back then, the 1000-lb Sisters star couldn’t leave her house without theoxygen tank, a wheelchair, a walker, a ramp for the wheelchair, and a specialty van with the center seat ripped out. Since losing weight, Tammy’s entire life has changed, as she has regained her mobility and independence.

The Slatons Weight Loss Journeys

It’s A Family Affair

Tammy isn’t the only member of the Slaton family who has lost a significant amount of weight over the years. Her sister and fellow 1000-lb Sisters star Amy weighed over 400 pounds when she made her television debut. Desperately wanting to have children, the 36-year-old had bariatric surgery, lost 125 pounds, and gave birth to two healthy sons, Gage and Glenn Halterman. Sadly, Amy has since divorced the father of her sons, Michael Halterman, and is living life as a single mother.

Tammy and Amy’s brother, 44-year-old Chris Combs, had bariatric surgery during season 3 and lost 150 pounds.

Their other sisters, Amanda Halterman and Misty Wentworth, have also lost weight since 1000-lb Sisters began. Both women had bariatric surgery on the same day in March 2023. Though it’s not clear how much weight 48-year-old Misty and 43-year-old Amanda have lost, they both look considerably thinner since surgery. 1000-lb Sisters season 6 will likely follow all the Slatons as they continue to pursue their health and weight-loss goals.
