Today’s Connections feels like a Resident Evil puzzle with words such as DIAMONDS, SWORD, and UMBRELLA all hanging about. To our disappointment, this was not the connection the game was looking for, and we had to look for other groupings to save the day. Luckily, this puzzle is not as challenging as past ones, particularly if you know what to look for.
After finishing Connections, you could go and replay Resident Evil again to keep the theming going. However, if that is not your speed you could instead trying solving the NYT Wordle of the day. Instead of putting multiple words together, you will be putting letters together to make a single word. This can be just as challenging and very satisfying when you get it right.

CHANNEL |
MENU |
POWER |
VOLUME |
This one stood out not because of a remote control but because of POWER and VOLUME seemingly going together. MENU and CHANNEL also had a fair number of similar vibes. We got this one more on luck because of those two things, but fortunately, this gamble paid off.

BLOCK |
COVER |
SCREEN |
SHIELD |
BLOCK and SHIELD stood out as having similar meanings, even though for a little while it seemed like SHIELD might go with SWORD and DIAMONDS – only partially because of the Resident Evil imagery. However, once we saw SCREEN and COVER as well, it made too much sense for a category all about protecting something to exist and luckily we were right.

UMBRELLA |
The closest we get to being a Resident Evil category, we unfortunately were given drink garnishes instead. While CHERRY and OLIVE are both perfectly nice in a drink, it is slightly disappointing to see SWORD and UMBRELLA end up here instead. However, we will move on and hope for something more in the future.

TOMORROW |
At least in all the excitement, we do git a glimpse of the glamor and action of the James Bond films. While it may not be zombie-related, at least not yet, at least it is marginally closer than drink garnishes. Alas, we will muse on the gambling of coins in a CASINO and the beauty of DIAMONDS as we think about QUANTUM theory TOMORROW.
