In an interview with ET, Joan shared that she was an extra in the 1985 movie St. Elmo’s Fire, which starred Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Andie MacDowell, and Mare Winningham. Joan said, “I was in St. Elmo’s Fire. You can see me, like, in a split second as an extra.”At about 52 minutes into the classic film, Rob Lowe’s character Billy Hicks watches Joan riding a bike past a fraternity house. Interestingly, ET caught Joan on camera riding by when the show visited the set of St. Elmo’s Fire.
