After the Hulk unleashes his feelings on Banner for the way he’s treated his alter ego, Bruce finally snaps at his oversized counterpart, blaming him for Charlie’s current predicament. After years of torment and infighting, Bruce Banner and his alter egos finally made peace. However, this peace was undone when a series of events led Banner to take control of his better half once and for all. Banner used advanced tech to break the Hulk’s psyche into manageable parts and tortured him by forcing the Hulk’s personality into simulations where he fought various opponents. The Hulk eventually broke free of this prison and the two returned to their old dynamic. However, Hulk resented Banner more than usual and began planning to take over their shared body for good.

Hulk is beyond reasoning and logic and absolutely doesn’t want to deal with Banner anymore. Judging by Banner’s reaction in the Soul Cage, he seems more than willing to give Hulk his pound of flesh. But rather than Hulk taking over Bruce’s body, what if Hulk winds up getting one of his own? While in the Soul Cage, Sumanguru takes a bit of Hulk’s blood and forms a new physical manifestation of the Green Goliath. This could be laying the groundwork for the Hulk to have his own body, one that would allow him to finally get revenge on Bruce.

The current dynamic between Hulk and Bruce is untenable. The only way both entities could possibly continue is if the two finally separate for good. But if Sumanguru actually does help the Hulk gain his own physical form, there’s nothing that could stop him from finally killing Bruce. Maybe Bruce is okay with that, but there are plenty of people in the Marvel Universe who aren’t going to let that happen. It’s hard to say how it will happen, but Bruce Banner and the Hulk’s time together could likely be coming to a close very soon.
