4 Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’s First Trailer Has Debuted

Star Wars’ New Show Really Is A Coming-Of-Age Tale

The highly anticipated Star Wars: Skeleton Crew finally has a trailer, and it proves that Star Wars is keeping true to its word. The TV show is a coming-of-age story featuring children from a planet highly reminiscent of Earth during the New Republic era. Although the children have yet to be identified, they are clearly of various Star Wars species and become lost in the galaxy during the course of the show.

The trailer also revealed that the children encounter Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, who is shown using the Force. Although the children identify him as a Jedi, it isn’t entirely clear whether that’s the case. After all, being a Jedi goes far beyond simply using the Force, and it’s unclear how Jod Na Nawood would have come by that training during this period in the Star Wars timeline. Regardless, though, this is a thrilling update and suggests an incredible story is coming.

In fact, the show not being canon means it can get quite creative, which Rebuild the Galaxy is clearly taking advantage of.

Mark Hamill Returns To Star Wars As Luke Skywalker In New Trailer For 2024’s Rebuild The Galaxy

Star Wars has unveiled a new look at LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy at D23, including the return of Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker and more.

Star Wars heavy hitters Mark Hamill and Ahmed Best will be reprising their roles in brand-new ways. Best will be returning as the Jar Jar Binks audiences have long wanted: Darth Jar Jar. Hamill will be returning to the iconic role of Luke Skywalker, but, as the trailer already made clear, it won’t be the Luke viewers are familiar with. Rather, this version of Luke has plenty of fourth-wall-breaking criticisms of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. The series will play with the Star Wars timeline and its many characters in similar ways, making this series surely one to watch.

2 The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie Is Officially Underway

Star Wars Confirmed Production Has Begun On The Franchise’s Next Movie

The Mandalorian & Grogu movie has had considerable interest from the moment it was announced, and anticipation for the movie seems to only be growing. Moreover, the movie features two of the most beloved characters in the franchise, the titular Din Djarin and Grogu, meaning that this is truly one of Star Wars’ most exciting upcoming projects.

Thrillingly, during D23, Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni announced that The Mandalorian & Grogu movie is currently in production. While there is plenty of time to go before the movie’s May 22, 2026, release date, this update was an exciting one. Presumably, additional updates will now be ongoing, as the movie is officially underway.

Luna also spoke about how profoundly Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and his character, Cassian Andor, have changed his life. Although little else is known about Andor season 2 at this time, this season will be the show’s last and therefore must bridge Andor season 1 and Rogue One, suggesting the story that is to come. While it’s unlikely that D23 will offer more information on Andor season 2, surely, additional Star Wars announcements are on their way.
