(Reuters) – General Motors (NYSE:) has been sued by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who accused the automaker of selling drivers’ private data to several companies, including insurers, without their consent.

Paxton said on Tuesday that the lawsuit followed his June announcement of a probe into several automakers, regarding allegations that they improperly collected mass amounts of driver data and sold it to third parties.
