A first look at Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes without any CGI has been revealed, showing off what to expect from the “Raw Cut” coming to Blu-ray. The rebooted Planet of the Apes movies are well-known for their detailed CGI apes, from Caesar and his friends in the original trilogy to the cast of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. However, behind-the-scenes looks at this filming process have often been smaller than the films themselves. Luckily, it was previously confirmed by Kingdom director Wes Ball confirmed the Blu-ray release would feature a version without any CGI.

Now, critic Dave Lee has posted a first clip of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes‘ upcoming “Raw Cut” without any CGI.

The clip is taken from Proximus Caesar’s introduction speech, where Noa and his captured family are forced to watch and support him. In the footage, the actors are wearing their rigs and performing their character roles. The footage also compares it to the CGI version at the same time.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
arrives on 4K Blu-ray – which includes the “Raw Cut” – on August 27, 2024.
