If you need a bit of prompting without any answers, here are a few hints that can help light your way. These are all related to separate categories and can help you solve the puzzle alone.

  • One category has to do with something musical
  • One category has to do with how you think
  • One category has to do with higher education
  • One category has to do with companies connected by a similar trait

If you still need some prompting, you can check out the following category names. This is often the biggest breakthrough, as understanding what you are looking for is often more than half the battle.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

KINDS OF PIANOS

ELECTRONIC

GRAND

PLAYER

UPRIGHT

This was interesting as I have not had a lot of experience with different types of pianos. I think if there had been more hints toward it specifically being a piano it would have been clearer to me sooner, but I did not solve this one first. I think looking at UPRIGHT and GRAND has the best potential to clue you in, but this could also be dependent on whether or not you confuse it with a Bass.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

DEEM

CONSIDER

COUNT

JUDGE

REGARD

This one is a little easier and was the one I leaned toward first due to these words all having a different feel than the others. COUNT is a little bit of a different definition that I normally wouldn’t put in this category but in other contexts, it definitely fits. Either way, this felt like the easiest and most obvious category to get in today’s puzzle, and hopefully you felt that way as well.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

U.S. COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES

BROWN

DUKE

HOWARD

SMITH

This one is difficult if you are unfamiliar with a broad range of higher education in the U.S.. Luckily, if you recognize just one of these and connect the other names to it, you might be able to search what other college names are. DUKE and HOWARD feel the most recognizable, with BROWN coming in next. SMITH is a little harder due to how generic it is, especially given that there are also generic last names in the purple category today.

SECOND NAMES IN COMPANIES WITH AMPERSANDS

GAMBLE

JOHNSON

NOBLE

YOUNG

This one is difficult and oddly quite specific. I think the better hope is that you recognize these as half of a company name and later discover that they all share the ampersand in common. Perhaps your brain works differently than mine and you can figure out that connection ahead of time, but it is likey best to have these words last in the puzzle so you do not have to figure out the connection on your own.
