A disappointing ability in Chasca’s gameplay kit for Genshin Impact 5.2 has leaked, indicating that one of her key features may not work as originally speculated. Chasca is confirmed to be one of the new playable characters arriving in HoYoverse’s action RPG with the next major update alongside Ororon. Her dedicated banner will likely run alongside several older rerun characters, as hinted at by the leaked Genshin Impact 5.2 character banners, which include a long-expected rerun of Albedo. Chasca is an Anemo character, rumored to have a 5-star rarity.
Players have already met Chasca as an NPC in the main Archon Quests back in Version 5.0, the first of the Natlan patches. She plays an important role in the campaign, but in Version 5.2, players will be able to pull for her in the gacha banners and, if successful, use her in combat and exploration across the available Teyvat map. Several Chasca leaks in Genshin Impact have already detailed a portion of her gameplay kit, such as her ability to fly and attack enemies mid-flight. Now, a new leak about Chasca has emerged, but it is rather concerning.
Chasca’s Leaked Flight In Genshin Impact 5.2 May Be More Limited Than Expected
Rumors Say The New Character Cannot Move Over Water
The flight Chasca uses is rumored to be a hovering stance, somewhat similar to that of Neuvillette or Arlecchino. A new piece of information provided by the leaker known as Watson Leaks mentions that Chasca’s hover will not function above bodies of water. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. While Neuvillette and Arlecchino can effectively traverse over water while in their special hovering states, it seems like Chasca’s flight mechanic may be more limited and will not allow players to explore all instances of Genshin Impact.
Chasca’s flight has been compared to the flight in Wanderer’s kit, but the comparison drawn with Neuvillette and Arlecchino seems to indicate it may be simpler than the already established 5-star Anemo character.

The Character Is Designed To Have Increased Mobility
With the initial leaks about Chasca, there was some expectation that her flight would be an improved version of that presented by Wanderer – in fact, the current leaks even state that she can gain height during her flight, much like the Hat Guy. However, if she cannot traverse over water, her exploration mechanics may be severely limited in comparison to the expectations that were created based on prior leaks. Not being able to fly over water seems like an outdated nerf to a character designed to have improved mobility in Genshin Impact.
