Black Ops Dishes Out Double XP To Celebrate Nuketown’s Return

The hype around Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is in full swing and Treyarch wants to reward players with an added incentive to play the new Nuketown map this weekend. One of the most popular multiplayer locations in Call of Duty history, Nuketown is making its long-awaited return today, November 1, and the community is buzzing with franchise veterans looking to capture the nostalgia of dominating in Free-For-All. To make the event even more exciting, anyone who logs into Black Ops 6 over the next few days should make some decent progress.

Announced with a post on X (formerly Twitter), Treyarch revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players will be able to enjoy double XP, double Weapon XP, and double GobbleGum earn rate from November 1 to November 4.

Additionally, a Nuketown 24/7 playlist is being added to allow players to experience the faux hamlet as much as they want without the fear of being thrown into a less popular location. The Nuketown 24/7 playlist will include Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed to keep things a little fresh.

Nuketown Remains A Call Of Duty Staple

The original Call of Duty: Black Ops introduced Nuketown back in 2010, and fans quickly gravitated towards the map. Its unique aesthetic, tight corners, and cluttered middle section offer engagements that provide extensive cover while also preventing lazy players from becoming complacent. There’s still something to be said about those users who camp in a corner with a light-machine gun but they’re generally easy to clear out thanks to Nuketown’s extremely fast gameplay.

The biggest reason Nuketown remains so popular is its size compared to other maps. Given the nature of Call of Duty‘s multiplayer, users generally want to get into games quickly and rack up as many kills as possible to gain access to new weapons, gadgets, and cosmetics. Nuketown’s scale ensures that time isn’t wasted looking for an opponent as the flow helps push users towards one another, making it an effective means of quickly leveling up.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has a range of unique maps from Skyline to Vault, but one of them has a fun feature that fans are using to kill their foes.

It’s Good To See Nuketown Back

Especially For Those Call Of Duty Veterans

Two soldiers fight on a lawn in Nuketown, one prepares to punch while the other swings a baseball bat

I may not have played too much Nuketown back in the day (I preferred Modern Warfare) but I’m eager to see the map return. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s omnidirectional movement should make it more chaotic than ever and I’m excited to see diehard fans using it to their advantage to pull some impressive killstreaks. It’s a good addition to the game, especially when it’s bolstered by many other decent maps.
