Catwoman has had a varied history, switching from villain to hero and then landing in that nebulous space in between. After her conversion from cat-burgling, she was considered a temporary member of the Bat-Family, mainly because of her romantic relationship with Batman himself. But a cat is never home among bats, and it seems Catwoman has finally found her team of equals.
In Catwoman #67 by Tini Howard and Carmine Di Giandomenico, Selina Kyle returns home to Gotham with her very own Cat Family, and each one of them seems to wear a different style that Catwoman herself has worn through the years.
Even with her life in danger, Catwoman seems to trust her ally Eiko Hasigawa far more than Batman or any of his Robins. Even after a fight, they have each other’s backs, and Eiko confirms that she won’t let Selina die. The same can’t necessarily be said of Batman, who has let all his Robins die.

Who Needs the Bat-Family?
Like strays Catwoman has picked up, this new team of semi-heroes from all over the world have come together in her city, just as Batman and his team do – but in her own heisting style. While Batman may also have Catwoman’s back in a fight, it’s almost a certainty that the next moment Robin will be handcuffing her and leading her straight to Arkham. The night before her potentitally deadly battle for Gotham against the White Glove, she even spends the night with her brother figure, Dario, instead of with Bruce Wayne. She clearly feels safer with these people and appears to be fully in her element.

Truth be told, Batman must have never made Selina Kyle feel at home. Even Nightwing acknowledges that she comes and goes like a cat, and none of them really know whether she is part of the family or not. With the help of her team, she decides in this issue that she no longer needs Batman and the Bat-Family any more, at least not in her personal fights. She hasn’t just made her choice passively either, falling into a bad crowd of burglars – she has actively turned Batman’s entire home away. It’s only right that Catwoman finally receives her own team to lead and is even worthy enough to take a turn in Batman’s cowl.
Catwoman Is As Good a Team Leader as Batman

Selina Kyle seems much more comfortable among these non-heroes, especially with their shared feline interests. Thieves will always find each other. The Bat-Family is a family of orphans that come together to believe the world can be better. Catwoman’s team, meanwhile, is more ambitious: take what is yours and let no one, hero or villain, stop you. With a supporting cast like that, a stray character like Catwoman has finally come out of the streets and found her home.
