Confirmation, Cast, Story & Everything We Know

The Apple TV+ original series For All Mankind has re-written history throughout its first four seasons on the air, and there are important updates regarding season 5. Developed by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi, the series is set in an alternate reality in which the Soviet Union beat the United States to the moon in the 1960s, and the legendary space race never truly ended. Essentially reinventing itself from season to season, For All Mankind moves one decade at a time to show more of what could have been.

Critically popular from the start, the series has been one of the best shows on Apple TV+ since its debut, and it is certainly one of their longest-running original programs. Several of the show’s seasons have earned 100% scores on Rotten Tomatoes with many critics praising the ensemble casting, thought-provoking writing, and original atmosphere that the series brings each and every episode. Considering its popularity with both critics and audiences, For All Mankind season 5 was a foregone conclusion for the streamer.

For All Mankind Season 5 Cast

A Time Jump Makes Some Returns Unlikely

Though a nearly wholesale return of the cast is possible the continued jump into the future makes the returns of Joel Kinnaman’s Ed Baldwin, Wrenn Schmidt’s Margo Madison, or Krys Marshall’s Danielle Poole less likely. The finale of season 4 jumped ahead to the year 2012, meaning those characters would be a decade older. However, several younger members of the program could reprise their roles including Cynthy Wu as Kelly Baldwin, along with Tyner Rushing as Samantha and Toby Kebbell as Miles.

The cast for season 5 is already growing, and For All Mankind has added The Killing‘s Mireille Enos as Peacekeeper Security Force member Celia Boyd. Joining Enos as a newcomer in season 5, The Americans alum Costa Ronin will play the role of former Soviet cosmonaut Lenya, who is now a politician. Furthermore, Ines Asserson (Royalteen) has joined as Marine A.J. Jarrett, while Ruby Cruz (Willow) will play the youngest daughter of Miles and Amanda, Lily Dale. Finally, Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty) will play Alex Poletov Baldwin, the son of Kelly and Ed.
