This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.
Summary
- Demon Slayer’s Infinity Castle Arc will be adapted into a trilogy of movies, according to an unconfirmed leak from the Jump Victory Carnival’s website.
- The final battle between the Demon Slayer corps and Muzan promises to be the most exciting and dramatic in the series.
- Fans can expect the movies to serve as the proper conclusion to the Demon Slayer series, possibly available on streaming platforms after theater release.
The grand finale of Demon Slayer, the Infinity Castle Arc, will apparently be adapted into a trilogy of movies, according to information inadvertently leaked by the Jump Victory Carnival’s website. This is not surprising, considering that Demon Slayer‘s producing studio, ufotable, spearheaded the practice of adapting arcs of a manga into theatrical movies.
Jump Victory Carnival is an annual event that takes place in Chiba, near Tokyo, celebrating all the popular series published in Shueisha’s flagship magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump (but also those that appear in V-Jump). According to Shonen Jump News (@WSJ_manga on X), an independent account that shares news from the manga world, the “visitors giveaways” section of Jump Victory Carnival’s website has revealed that Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle Arc will be animated as a movie trilogy.
Demon Slayer’s Final Arc Coming to Cinemas Is Not Surprising
This Is Already a Successful Tradition for the Franchise
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is still the highest-earning anime movie of all time. Since then, the franchise has come back to theaters with To the Swordsmith Village and To the Hashira Training, but both were essentially recaps of previous episodes of the anime series that served to bridge viewers into the next season. However, if the Infinity Castle Arc is really coming in the form of a trilogy of movies, this would be a completely different experience for Demon Slayer fans.
While the events of Mugen Train were later also told in an extended version in the anime, that was just one movie. It would not make much sense to produce three different movies to then have the same content appear later in the show. Thus, it’s likely that this trilogy will serve as the proper conclusion to the Demon Slayer series, and that the movies will become available not too long after their theatrical release on streaming platforms such as Crunchyroll.
The Infinity Castle Arc sees the final battle between the Demon Slayer corps and the diabolical Muzan and his demons, as the latter will launch a preventive strike to secure Nezuko and her coveted ability to resist sunlight. It will feature the most exciting and dramatic battles in the series, with the highest-ranking Upper Moons showing their strength against the Hashira who still didn’t have a chance to step into battle.
While this information about Demon Slayer‘s Infinity Castle Arc is yet unconfirmed, more details will hopefully be revealed during the Jump Victory Carnival event on July 21, 2024.
