Fast & Furious 11 Cannot End Without Giving Us A Team-Up That Has Been 11 Years In The Making

Fast & Furious 11 can’t end the saga without finally bringing together two characters for a team-up that’s been in the making for more than a decade. Although Vin Diesel briefly teased that Fast X could be the first chapter of a new trilogy, it’s since been confirmed that Fast & Furious 11 will be the final movie in the mainline series. Universal will surely continue to milk the series for more money with various spin-offs, but the main story of Dom Toretto and his found family will come to a definitive end in Fast & Furious 11.

This means that it’s up to Fast & Furious 11 to provide closure on all the various story threads. Dom and his family will have to find lasting peace and ride off into the sunset. Brian will have to come back in some form for a proper send-off. From Hobbs’ unexpected return to the revelation that Gisele isn’t really dead, the Fast & Furious finale has a lot of plotlines to pay off from Fast X — not to mention the cliffhanger. If Fast & Furious 11 really is the end, then it needs to finally make a long-awaited team-up happen.

Fast & Furious Can’t End Without A Proper Han & Shaw Team-Up

The True Justice For Han Would Be A Team-Up With Shaw

Han Lue was killed off as early as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. But since the Fast & Furious timeline is really complicated, the next few films were technically prequels, so Han was featured prominently until the franchise got back around to his death in the mid-credits scene of Fast & Furious 6. That mid-credits scene revealed that Han was killed by Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham. Shaw was out for revenge for the death of his brother, Fast & Furious 6 villain Owen Shaw, and he started with Han.

If Fast & Furious 11 is really going to be the final movie in the franchise, then it’s the last chance for a Han and Shaw team-up.

Shaw was the main villain of Furious 7, but he eventually became an ally of Dom’s crew. This led to the “Justice for Han” campaign, which demanded that Shaw pay for killing Han. It was eventually revealed that Han was still alive in F9, but he still had unfinished business with Shaw for the attempted murder. If Fast & Furious 11 is really going to be the final movie in the franchise, then it’s the last chance for a Han and Shaw team-up. The true “Justice for Han” would be reluctantly joining forces with Shaw.

Fast X Came So Close To Giving Us The Han & Shaw Scene We Deserved

Han & Shaw’s Fast X Team-Up Was Disappointingly Brief

Han and Shaw did technically team up in Fast X. The mid-credits scene of F9 brought Han and Shaw face-to-face as Han confronted Shaw and Shaw was shocked to see Han alive. Fast X followed up on this when Han went with Dom’s crew to carry out a mission for the Agency in Rome. This mission turned out to be a trap set up by Dante Reyes to exact vengeance against them. Now under new corrupt management, the Agency came after Dom and his team, so Han reluctantly sought help from an unlikely source.

This was a great setup for Han to team up with Shaw. He had no other choice but to go to the man who tried to kill him in order to save his friends. But their team-up in Fast X ended up being disappointingly brief. The movie was spinning a lot of plates, so it didn’t have the time to dedicate to a proper team-up of these two characters. Fast & Furious 11 has the chance to finally fulfill that potential.

Han Teaming Up With Shaw Would Be A Fitting Conclusion For Their Characters

All The Fast & Furious Characters Need To Find Peace

Every major character in the Fast & Furious franchise needs a fitting conclusion to their arc in Fast & Furious 11. Brian and Mia need to properly settle down, so they can finally rest. Hobbs needs one last victory, so he can hang up the flak jacket. Han and Gisele need to be reunited, since neither of their death scenes stuck. Dom needs to find a way to make sure his family is permanently safe, possibly making the ultimate sacrifice in order to do so. They all need a definitive ending to their individual stories.

Predicting The Ending Of All 13 Fast & Furious Characters In Fast 11

The Fast Saga is set to conclude with Fast & Furious 11 – or Fast X 2 – but how will Dom Toretto and his family’s stories come to a definitive end?

For Han and Shaw, a team-up would be a fitting ending in Fast & Furious 11. Most of the friends-turned-enemies in Dom’s crew have made peace with each other, like Letty and Cipher or Dom himself and Hobbs (both on and off-screen). The fact that Shaw tried and failed to kill Han is one of the only lingering beefs in the Fast & Furious franchise. Fast & Furious 11 needs to finally pair them up to kick butt together in an awesome action sequence.
