The Rod of Kepeleke is a unique quarterstaff in Diablo 4, exclusive to the Spiritborn class. It’s a powerful weapon that grants the Spiritborn significant advantages in combat. Plenty of players with this quarterstaff have been open about how great it is. Every player should want to have this, not just those in the Spiritborn class, because it’s a great gift and trading item or just an awesome weapon to have as a collected item.
The Rod of Kepeleke is not just a weapon added to the Vessel of Hatred expansion; it’s one of the best weapons for the Spiritborn class. It’s supposed to be a symbol of the Spiritborn’s mastery over nature’s forces. However, it’s just a really powerful quarterstaff. The best thing to do if you want to acquire it is to prepare for the long haul, because a lot goes into prep work. Aside from that, it is likely going to take plenty of tries just because the chances of getting it are random.
Rod Of Kepeleke Unique Class, Type, Effect & Affixes
Everything You Need To Know About This New Quarterstaff
The Rod of Kepeleke is a unique quarterstaff exclusive to the Spiritborn class in Diablo 4. This Ancestral weapon has a unique effect that significantly enhances the player’s Core Skills. It transforms them into Basic Skills, making them free to cast and readily available. However, there’s a trade-off, as the damage dealt by Core Skills is reduced by up to 30 percent based on their Vigor cost. The affixes are what make it a formidable weapon for any Spiritborn build focused on maximizing damage and resource management.

The power of the Rod of Kepeleke comes from its synergy with Vigor. When cast at maximum Vigor, Core Skills consume all Vigor, returning to full damage and becoming guaranteed Critical Strikes. This is further amplified by a 1% to 3% increase in Critical Strike Damage for each point of Vigor spent. In addition to its unique effect, the Rod of Kepeleke comes with a set of fixed affixes: a 45% Block Chance, +12 to 24 Maximum Resource, +80 to 100% Critical Strike Damage, +26 to 35% Chance for Core Skills to Hit Twice, and +5 to Velocity.
How To Get The Rod of Kepeleke
Battle Echoes Of Powerful Bosses
Getting the Rod of Kepeleke in Diablo 4 takes a bit of effort and a lot of luck. You can only get this Ancestral weapon from two specific bosses on Torment difficulty, both echoes of formidable foes from the main campaign. For the Echo of Andariel, go to Hanged Man’s Hall in Kehjistan and gather two Sandscorched Shackles and two Pincushioned Dolls. These items are obtained from Lord Zir and The Beast in the Ice, respectively. Place them at the summoning altar and defeat the Echo of Andariel for a chance to receive the Rod.
This will only happen if you are on Torment Difficulty, anything lower will not reward the Rod of Kepelke.
Alternatively, you can summon the Echo of Duriel at the Gaping Crevasse in Gea Kul. To do this, get a Mucus-Slick Egg and a Shard of Agony from the Echo of Varshan and Grigoire the Galvanic Saint, respectively. Place these items at the summoning altar and beat the Echo of Duriel for a shot at the quarterstaff. There’s no percentage released for how often the quarterstaff is dropped in Diablo 4, but it will likely take a few tries.
Other Ways To Get The Rod of Kepeleke
World Events, Helltide Events & More
While the Echo of Andariel and Echo of Duriel are the primary sources for the Rod of Kepeleke, there are other ways to get the Rod of Kepeleke in Diablo 4. However, keep in mind that these have very low chances of success because they are very random.
Unique items like the Rod of Kepeleke can normally be obtained through various means, including world events, enemy drops, and chests. World Events, such as Gathering Legions and World Bosses, often give high-tier loot, increasing your chances of getting the Rod. Nightmare Dungeons also offers a good source for acquiring unique items, including the Rod.
Another method is to try the Helltide Events. These events offer the chance to earn Cinders, which can be used to open chests, potentially containing the Rod. However, obtaining unique items from these sources is purely down to luck.
You can also use the Purveyor of Curiosity for the Rod of Kepeleke, a merchant who accepts Murmuring Obols. The Purveyor has a chance to offer unique items, including the Rod, but the rarity and availability of the item are determined by chance. The cost of gambling can be expensive in Diablo 4, requiring a significant amount of Murmuring Obols to purchase multiple items.
