How To Romance The Grim Reaper In Sims 4

The Sims 4 is one of the most versatile games for letting players do anything they can imagine, including starting a romance with the Grim Reaper. While the Grim Reaper functions differently than normal NPCs and has some unique rules, interacting with him isn’t too different from interacting with regular Sims.

However, before beginning a romance with the Grim Reaper, players will need extra Sims they can kill off as a sacrifice to summon him. Because of this, players should have a few disposable Sims, in addition to the one that players want to use to seduce the Grim Reaper, in the same household to make things easier.

How To Begin Romancing The Grim Reaper in Sims 4

Act Quickly & Be Persistent

The first thing players will need to do to begin their melancholic romance is kill one of the sims in their household so that the Grim Reaper will spawn. This can be done in several ways, but one of the most classic methods is drowning a sim in a pool. Not only is it always efficient, but it’s quick and simple. To do this, have your Sim enter a pool and proceed to remove any method of escape. This includes removing ladders and building a wall directly around the pool edges so they can’t climb out.

Once the sacrificial Sim passes away, the Grim Reaper will make his appearance. The Reaper moves quickly and disappears almost immediately after dealing with the dead Sim, so you will need to swoop in quickly before he can get down to business. To do this, interact with him as you would any other sim and select romantic conversation options like flirting. Unfortunately, the Grim Reaper will appear uninterested, so you must be persistent until the Love Bar fills up.

he can be a bit unpredictable, and he may disappear in the middle of talking to your Sim before the Love Bar can be filled! If this happens,
you will need to kill another sim
to make him reappear.

Once the bar is filled, the Grim Reaper will feel comfortable spending time with the Sim, and players will unlock the full range of Romance options. This includes almost everything normal Sims can do with each other, but the Grim Reaper cannot WooHoo in Sims 4 (or Try for Baby) without using mods. However, players can still have their Sim marry the Grim Reaper if they choose to.

Use Cheats To Take Your Relationship To The Next Step

To marry the Grim Reaper in Sims 4, he will need to be added to the household. This can be done by using relationship cheats in The Sims 4. To enable the cheat menu, press CTRL+SHIFT+C and type “testingcheats true” and they will now be active. Next, select the ‘Add to household’ option when holding SHIFT+C and hovering over the Grim Reaper with the cursor. This will add the Reaper to the current household, bringing him one step closer to your grasp.

For those looking to take their relationship beyond this, you will need to mod your game a bit by editing the Grim Reaper’s traits. To do this, open the same cheats menu as before via CTRL+SHIFT+C and make sure that TestingCheats True is still enabled. If it is, go ahead and input “traits.remove_trait isGrimReaper,” this should allow you to have normal interactions, including marriage. Unfortunately, the Try For Baby option will still not appear, but you can edit the Grim Reaper in CAS to fix this.

SHIFT+Click on the Grim Reaper to select the Modify in CAS option. You don’t have to do anything here, although some players have had fun customizing the Grim Reaper other than just re-entering the name.

Type Grim into the first name slot and Reaper into the last name slot and exit CAS. You should now have the option to Try For A Baby with the Grim Reaper. If nothing happens when you select it, try resetting by SHIFT+Clicking him and clicking Reset Object (Debug).

Once you’ve successfully gotten your Sim pregnant and completed all your goals, you will want to reset your Grim Reaper so he can get back to normal. To do this, reopen the cheats window and input “traits.equip_trait isGrimReaper” or “traits.equip_trait trait_isGrimReaper” and he should be reset back to normal. If he’s still in bizarre, regular clothing, you can change him back to his Grim Reaper outfit by selecting his everyday outfit.
