Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Ultimate Spider-Man #6Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin is one of Marvel Comics’ biggest villains. From Spider-Man to Daredevil, and most recently to the X-Men, the Kingpin has tangled with just about every hero there is, despite his status as a mere mortal. But Fisk’s new look completely revolutionizes the character, turning the fan-favorite crime lord into a genuine supervillain threat.
Ultimate Spider-Man #6 by Jonathan Hickman, Marco Checchetto, Mattew Wilson, and VC’s Cory Petit finally pits the Webhead and the Green Goblin against the Kingpin in a physical confrontation. Surprisingly, Fisk keeps his super-powerful foes on the ropes – even surviving a point-blank Goblin Grenade explosion.
Revealing his massive, tattooed frame, Kingpin boasts while demonstrating the effects of his recent “self-improvement” by smashing both heroes to a pulp. Ultimately, Peter and Harry are forced to retreat, and after a stunning display of power, it’s clear that Kingpin is anticipating the rematch.

Kingpin’s Brawn Matches His Brains
Wilson Fisk Has Leveled The Playing Field
In the primary Marvel canon, Wilson Fisk is incredibly strong and durable for a normal human, but that strength is due to extensive exercise combined with his naturally powerful stature. This strength – along with his incredible cunning – makes him a viable foe for heroes like his archenemy Daredevil. But against a truly super-powerful opponent like Spider-Man, Wilson has failed time and time again. After all, for all his power and schemes, the Kingpin of Earth-616 is still a normal man who just happens to tower over his competitors.
The Kingpin of Earth-616 has plagued heroes like Spider-Man and Daredevil for years, but he’s ultimately still a mortal man with mortal limits.
These new enhancements, however, turn the Ultimate Kingpin into a physical force that Spider-Man must tackle, instead of just a devious mortal man who’s outwitted the law more times than fans can count. It’s clear that this version of Fisk still boasts his mainline counterpart’s intellect and ego, but thanks to his enhancements, Kingpin now truly has the muscle to match. And considering the beatdown he lays on the two fledgling heroes in this issue, this Kingpin seems to be more than a match for the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
Spider-Man Cannot Beat Fisk Alone
The Kingpin’s Advantages Are Undeniable
The Kingpin of Earth-616 has plagued heroes like Spider-Man and Daredevil for years, but he’s ultimately still a mortal man with mortal limits. Based on the tattooed enhancements shown off in this issue, Wilson Fisk of Earth-6160 has seemingly surpassed these limits, finally raising his game to the Wallcrawler’s level. Whether or not Peter Parker can survive a second round against the new owner of The Daily Bugle remains to be seen, but the Kingpin is now in a perfect position to squash the Ultimate Spider-Man once and for all.
