The upcoming Metaphor: ReFantazio will be arriving on various platforms in October, causing many to question if it will be available on the Xbox Game Pass service. There have already been some incredible day-one titles for Xbox Game Pass, making it more than reasonable to wonder if the next release from Atlus will be another. Metaphor: ReFantazio has many Persona fans marking their calendars, making any way to gain access to the game one to be aware of.
With key figures from the Persona franchise working on the title, including Director Katsura Hashino, it is little wonder that Metaphor: ReFantazio has attracted plenty of interest ahead of its release. It is worth noting that previews for Metaphor: ReFantazio have only heightened excitement for the title, having given tantalizing glimpses of an engaging, stylish game with plenty of narrative potential. Of course, this has only made people more eager to start playing as soon as possible, particularly as so much Euchronia’s world remains a mystery.
It Is Releasing On Xbox Consoles Though
Metaphor: ReFantazio is confirmed to be coming to Xbox alongside other major platforms on October 11. However, there is unfortunately no indication of it also coming to Xbox Game Pass given on the official Xbox website.
This will undoubtedly be disappointing for many who use the service, but there is still the possibility of the game becoming available in the future. Many Atlus games have already been a part of the service, with Persona 3: Reload and Persona 5 Tactica both currently available to subscribers.
It May Come To A Game Pass Tier Later On
Of course, it is also worth noting that the apparent lack of a day-one Game Pass release will not truly affect every Xbox player in the same way, given how the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier differs from others. After all, those with both Core and Standard memberships have a smaller catalog of games to choose from, including no day-one releases. As such, many Xbox players will already be planning on purchasing Metaphor: ReFantazio without relying on their Game Pass to gain access to the title.
Although Metaphor: ReFantazio may come to the Xbox Game Pass service in time, for now it seems that subscribers of any tier will not automatically gain access to the title. This is unfortunate, but at the very least, the game will still be available for Xbox players to purchase and play outside of the service on its release day. And as Altus titles have a proven track record in joining the subscription service’s roster, those who are willing to wait longer to play the game could easily see their patience rewarded in the future.
