The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power co-showrunner Patrick McKay and producing director Charlotte Brändström have teased a multi-episode battle to come in season 2, including a new look at Elrond’s armor. The Rings of Power season 2 will continue exploring the history of Middle-earth’s Second Age, now following the forging of the first three titular Rings. Promotional material has revealed Sauron’s return in the form of the elf Annatar, as well as how Mordor’s rise will impact the world. It was previously teased that a massive battle would be featured in the new episodes as well.
Speaking with Empire, McKay and Brändström teased a multi-episode battle for The Rings of Power season 2, explaining it will be much larger than the fight in the Southlands during season 1. The creatives teased the level of violence that will be seen in the fight, as well as how big a scale the battle will actually have. Check out what McKay and Brändström had to say below:

We love a good battle. The plan with Season 2 would be to do something much bigger, on a much grander scale that would take place not just overnight, but over multiple days, weeks, months and episodes.Charlotte Brändström:
[It will be] ten times bigger…. It’s really the battle of the darkness against the light, with some very dark and quite violent moments.
