Mohamed “Simo” Nasrollah managed to grab attention as soon as he joined Love Is Blind: Habibi, and it’s time to talk about his breakup with Hajar Asli. Love Is Blind: Habibi premiered on October 10 and was hosted by celebrity power couple Elham Ali and Khaled Saqer. 20 singles joined the experiment ready to find their partners, with the participants coming from different parts of Africa and the Middle East. It followed the same format as the original Love Is Blind, where contestants fell in love before meeting for the first time.

Hajar and Simo’s connection in the pods was so deep that it allowed the Love Is Blind: Habibi cast members to foster a healthy relationship. Despite having a positive outlook, Simo noted that he had high expectations for the person he’d date and marry. The Love Is Blind: Habibi star noted that he grew up following traditions. He wanted to hang onto his old-fashioned values. That was the same thing Simo expected from his future wife.

So, the couple argued over family dynamics and gender roles, which Hajar found restrictive. One of their greatest arguments was over where they’d live. Hajar didn’t want to live in Morocco and preferred Dubai, which Simo wasn’t okay with. Dubai would give her the independence she desired. Hajar worried that living with Simo’s family would limit what she could do, and that didn’t sit well with her. On the other hand, Simo valued family and looked at it as an essential entity. Therefore, since the twosome didn’t share the same family values, Simo questioned if marrying Hajar was worth it.

At one point, Hajar found herself on the wrong side after confiding in Simo that she wanted a bachelorette party where they’d have a “cake before going on a diet.” Hajar was alluding to having male dancers for her party, which didn’t sit well with Simo, who started schooling and belittling her, thus ruining their date. Notably, Simo only picked Hajar since she is Moroccan and expected her to behave like other Moroccan women.

Simo’s and Hajar’s relationship was one of the most controversial points in Love Is Blind: Habibi. The two constantly argued, with their final blow happening after Simo got into a heated confrontation with another Love Is Blind cast member, Chafic Yatchie. It all happened after Simo told Dounia Allbrahim, who was engaged to Chaffic, about Chafic’s past connection with another contestant, Nour El Hajj.
Hajar didn’t want to get in the mix and didn’t try to stop the men from fighting. Disappointed, Simo left because he felt let down by his partner. The worst part was that Simo didn’t tell Hajar he was leaving. Although there’s no proper communication from the Love Is Blind: Habibi couple about their separation, it seems like each has moved on, with Hajar living her best life in Dubai. They also don’t follow each other on social media.
