In the piece, Rose and the Tenth Doctor are stood on the sands of Bad Wolf Bay face-to-face, giving each other a somber look as they know the inevitable is coming. While the Doctor had already begun to fade away before he could tell Rose how he felt in the first piece, the second piece revisits their second farewell, when the Metacrisis Doctor is able to share how he feels.
The Tenth Doctor And Rose’s Relationship Is Still Close To Many Fans’ Hearts
The Doctor and the Rose had one of the strongest bonds between a companion and Time Lord.
Rose isn’t the only companion to share a bond with the Doctor that veers into romance in Doctor Who‘s revival, as with the lifting of classic era showrunner John Nathan Turner’s restrictions on TARDIS occupant relationships. With Rose’s departure and the Doctor grieving, he is oblivious to the affections of Martha Jones (Freema Agyeman) until she moves on from him, and Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) would have an unrequited crush on the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith). The revival would also introduce Alex Kingston’s River Song, the Time Lord’s wife.
Despite this, the Doctor and Rose’s relationship stands out to most due to its bittersweet nature.
