According to new reports, Xbox Game Pass‘ roster could get even more impressive this August. Since Microsoft’s subscription service launched in June 2017, it has been regarded as one of the better deals for gamers. Over a hundred titles are included, and some major AAA games, mainly from Microsoft’s first-party studios, were added to the service upon its launch, such as Halo Infinite, Gears 5, and Starfield.
New reports from leaker eXtas1s – which have been corroborated by Windows Central – suggest that more of Activision’s past catalog of games will start coming to Xbox Games Pass in August. This would make sense following Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard King in 2023, and many Xbox players have been expecting more of the publisher’s catalog to arrive on the subscription at some point. If anything, it’s surprising that more of Activision’s titles haven’t appeared on the service sooner.

According to eXtas1s, the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be coming to Xbox Game Pass in August 2024, with the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 remakes and Spyro Reignited Trilogy coming to the subscription “very soon.” With these additions, players will quickly get a selection of 8 Activision games in their libraries, as each title mentioned is a bundle or trilogy of some sort with remakes of beloved titles from past console generations.
It’s worth noting that eXtas1s can’t confirm that these games will be added in the same month, however, so Microsoft may be planning to roll these titles out starting from next month. It’s clear Microsoft is keen to get more of Activision Blizzard King’s major releases onto the subscription, but it seems to be taking its time with this. These rumors follow Blizzard Entertainment’s ARPG, Diablo 4, joining Xbox Game Pass in March 2024 and the announcement that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch as a day-one title on Game Pass on Oct. 25, 2024.
Acquiring Activision Blizzard King was a huge win for Microsoft due to how successful some of its IPs are, to the point that there was a legal case to establish how these studios becoming first-party to Xbox could impact the wider gaming industry. Therefore, it seemed like only a matter of time before Microsoft would start to use some of these titles as a further incentive to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass. If the rumors do turn out to be correct, there will likely be far more of the studios’ titles coming to the service in the coming months.
