This Baldur’s Gate 3 Bard Trick Is Perfect For Rogues

One of the best things about Baldur’s Gate 3 is the level of freedom the game gives its players when it comes to picking a strategy. The Goblin Camp is a good example of this, since the player can stealthily take out their enemies one-by-one, poison the drinks at the party, or just run in guns blazing with Halsin in his bear form. In a way, this level of freedom is lifted straight from Dungeons & Dragons, being something that the world’s most famous tabletop RPG is known for.




There are plenty of things that players can take straight from Dungeons & Dragons into Baldur’s Gate 3. If a player is currently in a DnD campaign and BG3 has their character’s subclass, they can port them over quite effectively and roleplay as them in the world that Larian has crafted. When these NPCs are around the bard, they can leave behind their valuables in their stalls, if they’re traders, and this provides the perfect opportunity for a sneaky rogue to swoop in and steal anything they want without much effort.

, Larian’s last title.

This is a common strategy in DnD, where the bard provides some kind of distraction while another party member does something else. It can be useful in getting party members into restricted areas too, distracting guards who really should be watching their posts better. If players know that they’re about to get into a fight with a group of NPCs, it can also be a useful strategy to gather these NPCs into a tight group, before blasting them with their best Baldur’s Gate 3 spells.

At first glance, playing a song for a bard seems like a fun, but admittedly useless gimmick; however, creative players can always find ways to use basically anything in BG3, especially to get infinite gold. Outside of taking a group of NPCs’ eyes away from a sneaky rogue, players can even perform next to a cliff or a lake of lava and then have a strong barbarian shove the gathering NPCs off the cliff or into the lava. The possibilities are practically endless.
