If high gas prices have you down, Kroger is offering a way to fight back.
Those who have a Kroger account can earn extra fuel points by buying gift cards from the Kroger Gift Card Mall from now until March 22.
For every $1 spent on eligible gift cards during that time, you will earn 4 fuel points. Normally, Kroger offers 2 fuel points for every dollar spent on gift cards.
Once you earn 100 fuel points, you can start redeeming them when you buy gas at Kroger fuel stations, other fuel stations in the Kroger family and participating Shell locations.
Kroger’s Fuel Points FAQs explain how redemption works:
“Fuel Points are redeemable in 100 point increments, up to 35 gallons of unleaded, mid-grade, premium, diesel or E85 at participating stations. … At participating Shell locations, you can redeem up to 1,000 Fuel Points for $1 off per gallon.”
Use Kroger’s Fuel Locator to search for participating centers near you.
Visit the Kroger Gift Card Mall to see which gift cards are eligible for extra fuel points, and to make a purchase.
The Kroger fuel points program is part of its large loyalty program. In addition to earning fuel points for gift card purchases, you earn 1 fuel point for every $1 spent on most purchases at Kroger supermarkets, at other grocery stores in the Kroger family, and at Fred Meyer Jewelers.
The Kroger family of stores includes nearly two dozen companies across the country.
