Today’s Connections puzzle has fairly diverse categories, which can sometimes make it easier to distinguish them when you are attempting to solve them. However, in this case, while the categories are separate it is also not immediately obvious what the actual categories that define them might be, and it is a little harder to pick what goes where because of that. Luckily, we are here to share our tips with you.
If you like connecting the dots, you will also enjoy the puzzle Vertex, where you connect even more dots to make a picture. It is a great game and can be a little easier. However, there are still important decisions to make, as not every dot has the same number of lines connecting it. Deducing what connects where is a very important aspect of this relaxing puzzle game.

LEAD |
USHER |
This one was fairly straightforward, although not the first one we correctly submitted today. Sometimes the more normal-seeming words do not stand out and get lost in the background of the puzzle, which is why we ended up submitting this one second. However, USHER did stand out, and once we put it together with DIRECT, we were able to guess the other two words as well.

CON |
HUSTLE |
RACKET |
STING |
The words CON and HUSTLE did immediately stand out, so we submitted these answers first, and luckily our instinct paid off. STING was a good third word to add to the group, and nothing else suggested anything remotely like a CON except for RACKET. This made it fairly easy to submit these answers and get our first correct category of the day.

EAGLE |

WASHINGTON |
This one was a little tricky, but also apt for the beginning of July. We knew EAGLE, SEAL, and WASHINGTON likely went together, but the other remaining words did not quite fit and PYRAMID felt strange at first. However, given that it was the best answer at the time, we luckily guessed this one correctly. Once we saw that it was specifically talking about dollar bills, things made more sense.

NORTHWEST |
NOVA |
PRINCE |
This one was tricky without having a map in front of you. Even being familiar with and having memorized the provinces once upon a time, that would not have been our first thought looking at these words. However, once we submitted the answer given that it was the last set of words, it was far more obvious. It is a very random assortment of words otherwise, which is what made this puzzle a little tricky.
