Who would play you in the biopic about your life?

Topher Grace, who used to be on ‘That ‘70s Show.’ People always say I look like him. We’ve got some of the same mannerisms; I think he’d do a good job.

What’s your biggest pet peeve?

Unfortunately, I have several. My wife would say I’m a fairly particular person. But what bothers me most right now is group scheduling emails. You’ve got all these people responding with a hundred messages … it makes my brain turn off.

Who do you find most interesting to follow on social media?

I love following Scott Galloway, he’s an NYU marketing professor. He also has a blog I follow, it’s called ‘No Mercy/No Malice.’ He writes about tech investments, digital marketing, a bunch of other stuff.

What’s something you would seriously stockpile if you found out it wasn’t going to be sold anymore?

I have a sweet tooth and I would absolutely stockpile Starburst. And I don’t think they’d go bad, they’d last forever. I am a purist to the extreme—only the original. I don’t like any of those Hawaiians, none of that. I actually used to buy 20-pound bags on Amazon and keep them at my desk. I moved away from that, but if I’m on a road trip, at a gas station, that’s what I’m getting.

What are you freakishly good at (or bad at)?

I’m a freakishly good typist—I type about 150 words a minute. It stems from growing up being a piano player. I guess I was blessed with really good finger dexterity. I’m freakishly bad at, and most people won’t admit this, I’m not a good driver. Mostly because I’m a distracted driver. Other people always quickly volunteer to drive.

What fictional character do you think would be most interesting to meet in real life?

I have a habit of watching my favorite TV shows over and over. And one of them is ‘The Wire,’ and I think Omar would be fascinating in real life.

What’s your guilty pleasure?

I probably drink four or five cups of coffee a day. That is definitely a can’t live without. Or something maybe more indulgent, being able to binge watch my favorite shows. I’m a night owl, so being able to watch one or two episodes late at night in silence.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?

I’ve had kangaroo in Australia—that’s pretty unusual. It’s a little like venison but it’s even tougher. I also had crocodile when I was there. I did a study abroad in college.

If you could be a member of any TV show family, which would it be?

I’ve always loved the show ‘Modern Family.’ I would envision it as my own family and then I would be like the third sibling, so a sibling of Mitchell and Claire.

What chore do you absolutely hate doing?

I hate doing the dishes. It’s a bit of a family dispute, but my kids are getting older enough now and so I can get off the hook. I do have a very specific way I want the dishwasher loaded though, so if I don’t have to look at it, that’s better.

What superhero power would you most like to have?

This is a constant conversation with my kids, and it almost always comes down to flying or being invisible. I almost always pick flying. Teleportation comes up in the conversation, too, but that’s not nearly as much fun.
