Indian actress Jyoti Kisange Amge gained fame for portraying Ma Petite in the fourth season of American Horror Story, though this isn’t her only achievement. Among the many colorful characters in the 4th season of AHS, Ma Petite was impossible to miss. Unlike many of the other carnival performers, Jyoti Amge’s Ma Petite required no prosthetic effects. Her stage act in Freak Show’s traveling carnival focused on her size, and many viewers were instantly intrigued at whom the actor playing Ma Petite was, since she was clearly the same height as her character and an adult, rather than child, performer.
Ma Pettie was played by actress Jyoti Amge who, according to the Limca Book of Records and the Guinness Book of Records, is the world’s smallest living woman. She was declared so on her 18th birthday in December of 2011, standing at a height of 2 feet and 0.6 inches (62.8 centimeters). Reportedly, Amge’s height is due to a growth anomaly called achondroplasia. Amge is 6.2 centimeters shorter than the former world’s shortest woman, a 22-year-old American citizen named Bridgette Jordan, who is 2 feet and three inches.

Jyoti Amge Played Ma Petite, A Tragic American Horror Story Character
Jyoti Amge played Ma Petite in American Horror Story: Freak Show, the fourth season of the anthology horror show, and she was instantly a fan-favorite character. She appeared in almost every episode, including the finale. In American Horror Story: Freak Show, Jyoti Amge’s character Ma Petite is a carnival performer in the titular ‘freak show’, as well as an assistant to Jessica Lange’s character, a sideshow leader named Elsa Mars.
Elsa took Ma Petite under her wing, often carrying her around and treating her like a child. Nevertheless, Freak Show gave Ma Petite a tragic ending – she was killed by strongman Dell Toledo (Michael Chiklis) so that her body could be sold to a museum. Ma Petite’s death impacted the whole season; for instance, Elsa killed Dell for what he did to one of her most beloved friends.
