Another Loan Shark Arrested
The Hawks have once again swooped down on another illegal loan shark.
This time the search and seizure raid was in Mpumalanga. The 27 year old loan shark had not registered with the National Credit Regulator as is required for those who lend money for a fee or on interest.
The hawks also found that the illegal loan shark was hoarding clients’ bank cards, ID books and SASSA cards, which is a common illegal practice by such mashonisas. The loan shark was also charging people totally illegal interest rates.
The hawks seized all those documents, records of transactions and cash before wicking the criminal off to jail. The suspect then appeared in court the following day in connection with the charges.
Members of the NCR assisted in the raid and arrest.
