A player recently shared an impressive achievement in Black Myth: Wukong, showcasing an impressive stat they achieved. The game is known for its difficulty, and acquiring more power and better stats requires quite a bit of work. The real question is whether or not other players can achieve the same feat.




Released in 2024, Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG game that is based on the classical Chinese novel Journey to the West. Players take on the role of monkey warrior The Destined One, battling beasts and enemies to reclaim their world while collecting the different body parts of the legendary Sun Wukong of myth. With the games’ challenging nature, many players find achieving stats, like 900 attack power, an impressive feat to accomplish.


How New Game Plus Works In Black Myth: Wukong

A Repeated Challenge for Success

Reddit user demnklnr posted “900 attack. Somebody top it“, accompanied by a screenshot from their in-game Equipment Menu, highlighting their the Destined One’s attack power score on the right-hand side in yellow. This post sparked a conversation within the community on how players might achieve the build. Many comments even say it is not enough to beat some bosses in the game.


In Black Myth: Wukong, New Game Plus (NG+) enables players to restart the game after completing a playthrough while retaining elements from their previous journey. This includes all Will, stats, materials, weapons and armor, with the exception of key story items. This means any items relating to the story will need to be acquired again. NG+ provides an opportunity to bolster their stats and refine their strategy as they progress through another playthrough. This is how the player was able to reach the level 900 on attack.


In New Game Plus, bosses look the same and retain their attack patterns, but will hit harder and have more health. This increase in difficulty makes for an overall more challenging experience and requires players to refine their strategies to beat the bosses. NG+ makes completing the game more than once a more enjoyable and rewarding experience rather than something tedious.

How 900 Attack Power Would Be Possible

It Takes Dedication to Reach the Highest Stats

The screenshot does not indicate what playthrough the player achieved this 900 figure on, but by the number of Will, the player has put in a high number of hours to achieve this. With players on average reaching between 100 and 150 attack power after their first playthrough, it can be predicted that it would take between 5 and 8 playthroughs with New Game Plus to reach a level as high as 900.

Though this would highly depend on the skill of the player and their style and strategy. Each playthrough on average takes 35 hours, meaning a dedicated amount of time will have to be put into Black Myth: Wukong.
