March 14, also written as “3/14,” marks the beloved Pi Day. This made-up holiday honors “pi,” the mathematical constant that designates the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter, which begins with “3.14.”
It may sound nerdy, but it’s also a great day to subtract from your food bill. On Pi Day, several restaurant chains offer deals or freebies. Typically, these Pi Day deals are good for pizza pies, pot pies and bakery pies, which adds up to a lot of delicious savings.
The following are among the “pi”-ping hot spots to check out this March 14.
Note: Before you make any moves, call ahead to confirm that locations in your area are participating in these offers.

Mici Handcrafted Italian
Each of this Colorado-based restaurant chain’s seven locations is giving away a total of 3.14 10-inch pizzas to the first four people in line at 3:14 p.m. on Pi Day. (Each of the first three people in line will receive a whole pizza, while the fourth person will receive .14 — that is, 14% — of a pizza. However, QSR reports that “it’s possible Mici might take pity on the .14 recipients” and give them a whole pie.)
The same offer available at 7-Eleven is also available at Speedway stores. (Both chains are owned by the same parent company.)
