3 Effective Ways to Make More Money – Real Advice

“What we really want to do is what we are really meant to do. When we do what we are meant to do, money comes to us, doors open for us, we feel useful, and the work we do feels like play to us.”

                                                                                                                                       ~ Julia Cameron

It’s become a viral trend online to make money by telling others how to make money. When you see it, it is difficult to believe anyone’s get rich quick schemes, and this is probably the healthiest thing you can realise. The truth is, there is no get-rich-quick method to making more money, unless you have money to invest, and the knowledge to invest in the right place at the right time.

There is however a plethora of ways to make a little extra passive income on the side if you have the time and the skills required. Every way of making money requires hard work and dedication. If you have these and have set your mind on bringing in a bit more buck, then the following methods may work to increase your wallet.

#1 – Freelancing

Freelancing sounds like a life where you have time to spend time with the kids or go and walk the dog. Perhaps even a life where you have more me-time. It isn’t. It takes more discipline to freelance than it does to do a normal 8 – 5. Why? Because you are the boss of your own brand. You are the master of the money you make, and every action affects your paycheck. It takes a long time to make a name for yourself in the freelancing world, however once you have done so, you can begin charging more and working better hours. Do not quit your day job to freelance, ever.

Depending on your skillset you can use reputable platforms like Upwork to showcase your work. A faster method is advertising in the local newspaper or even on Facebook and getting your skills out there. Look at what others in your industry are doing and try to keep up to date at all times. Freelancing your work will not bring you millions, but if you put in the time and effort, it will bring new skills to your portfolio and it will eventually pay off.

#2 – Have You Got Something to Teach?

We all have something to teach someone else. Whether this is knitting, arts and crafts or how to design great covers for magazines. We all have something to learn and there is bound to be a few thousand people who need to learn what you have to teach. There are a few methods in which you can present your training material, but  it really boils down to what you are teaching and how tech savvy you are. If you do not have design skills, there are free design options such as Canva for you to play around with. Creating a downloadable e-book or making training videos on YouTube are simple methods which can generate an income if you put your mind to it.

#3 – “See a Need, Fill a Need”

Rodney Copperbottom in the movie Robots said, “See a need, fill a need.” While there is humour around this quote and in the children’s movie, there is also a fundamental truth attached to it. The easiest and fastest way to earn a little more money each month is to look at your surroundings and see what is lacking. Research through social media hubs for your area. Look at what people are constantly asking for. This will give you a direct indication on whether your skillset is required and where. It may even be something you did not think people needed such as pet-sitting or taking the elderly shopping.
