You don’t have to teach yoga in a studio – how about running your business from home? If you haven’t had yoga teacher training, then get certified. There are a lot of teacher training courses available, at home and abroad. If it’s the UK, ensure it’s certified by an accredited body like the British Wheel of Yoga or Yoga Alliance.
Think about what type of yoga you’re going to offer:
- Hatha
- Dynamic
- Kundalini
- Aerial
- Acro yoga
- Yoga accreditation training
Planning permission depends on the size and nature of your studio and classes, and whether they’ll contribute to a lot of disruption for your neighbours. You will definitely need public liability insurance, employers’ liability insurance and professional treatment liability insurance. If you teach classes online, add cyber insurance into the mix.
