Black Couple Launches New Platform as a Digital Home for Black Creators, Entrepreneurs, and Culture

Founders of BlackEx

Nationwide — A bold new digital destination has officially soft-launched, setting the stage for a platform that centers Black voices, Black enterprise, and Black culture. blackEX is now live, inviting creators, businesses, and community supporters to engage in a space designed for authentic storytelling, economic empowerment, and cultural collaboration. Built from the ground up with purpose, blackEX is more than a tech platform—it’s a movement grounded in legacy and leadership.

Founded by Dedric L. Thomas, a USMC Disabled Veteran and Cybersecurity Professional with over two decades of federal contracting experience, blackEX is the culmination of years spent protecting global content infrastructure and now channeling that expertise into uplifting his own community. “This platform was born from a place of purpose,” he says. “As a Black Marine Corps veteran and digital security expert, I wanted to build something that protects and uplifts us—our art, our stories, and our businesses. blackEX isn’t just a tool—it’s a legacy.”

Joining him is his wife, Joyce Thomas, the newly appointed Vice President of Business Relations and Strategic Partnerships. She brings over 30 years of leadership in customer service and franchise operations, along with a track record as a Black woman entrepreneur who has successfully launched and operated multiple businesses. “We are creating a safe and empowering ecosystem for Black talent to thrive,” she shares. “blackEX reflects what our community deserves—visibility, ownership, and support.”

Key features of the blackEX platform include a streaming hub for independent Black cinema and digital storytelling, a marketplace featuring culturally inspired products and Black-owned brands, a business directory for networking and promotion, and secure content distribution tools that empower creators to retain full control of their work. It is a space where artistry meets commerce, where stories are shared, and where community can be built without compromise.

The timing of this launch, just after Juneteenth, is intentional. “Juneteenth symbolizes freedom and forward momentum. blackEX continues that legacy by building digital infrastructure where Black talent and enterprise can thrive without limits,” Dedric adds.

The platform is currently in its soft-launch phase, allowing early users to experience its features, provide feedback, and help shape its direction. blackEX welcomes consumers, entrepreneurs, artists, and supporters to explore and engage with a platform built by and for the Black community.
