In addition to the summer camp, their organization, Junior Wallstreeters, has also announced a financial-wellness workshop with author Michael Harriot

Kevon and Kamari Chisolm

Nationwide — Kevon Chisolm and his teenage son, Kamari, the founders of Junior Wallstreeters, Inc., have unveiled a double-header of programming designed to fight learning loss, narrow the racial wealth gap, and build the next generation of savvy investors.

This year, their organization will first host a free Zoom workshop, “Empowering Communities with Financial Wellness,” on Friday, June 14, at 1:30 p.m. EST, featuring Michael Harriot, the cultural commentator and bestselling author of Black AF History: The Un-Whitewashed Story of America.

Harriot will join Executive Director Kevon Chisolm, Esq. to explore questions central to family wealth: why financial literacy is essential for youth and adults, what drives the racial wealth gap, how early education shapes long-term prosperity, and which practical steps families can take to build intergenerational wealth. The interactive session is open to the public; advance registration is required. RSVP here

One week later, beginning on June 23rd, Junior Wallstreeters will also launch its sixth consecutive season of online summer camps — a series that has served hundreds of students ages 12 through 21 since 2020. All in all, Kevon and Kamari will deliver three immersive virtual camps under the banner “Junior Wallstreeters: Empowering Youth with Financial Wellness.” This financial literacy and investing camp offers two options:

• Session 1: June 23 – July 3, 10 a.m.–3 p.m. EST, $300
• Session 2: July 7 – 18, 10 a.m.–3:30 p.m. EST, $325

Over ten engaging lessons, students master budgeting, banking, stock investing, credit management, insurance, and community wealth-building through investment clubs—all framed within African-American history and culture.

Graduates may advance to specialized programs held later in July. Introduction to Real Estate Investing runs July 15–19 (10:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. EST), equipping students with fundamentals of property analysis, financing, and community development.

Introduction to Cryptocurrency & Digital Platforms follows July 20–24 (10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. EST); each enrollee receives free cryptocurrency upon completion. Tuition for each advanced camp is $325.

All courses include an electronic handbook, daily live instruction, and a supportive peer community designed to prevent summer learning loss while fostering wealth-building acumen.

“Our goal is to address the wealth gap by showing young people how to use money as a tool,” Chisolm said, citing Federal Reserve data showing only 34 percent of Black households and 24 percent of Latino households own stocks, compared with 61 percent of white households.

What People Are Saying:

A recent camper shared, “This class is perfect for kids and teens. It taught me about the stock market, African-American history, credit cards, and insurance—things I never learned in school. It made a big impact on me.”

Scholarships & Sponsorships

Need-based scholarships ensure that cost is never a barrier. A recent Pittsburgh-area donation has already funded five campers, and additional sponsors are invited to underwrite tuition for underserved students. Contributions of any size are welcome to expand access. To apply for a scholarship, visit JuniorWallStreeters.org/scholarship
