Hit-Boy Drops New Song After ‘Idiots’ Break Into His Studio

Hit-Boy is turning misfortune into music after his studio was targeted by robbers.

On Sunday (January 4), the multi-platinum producer/rapper released a new song called “Crow Bars” inspired by the scary incident, which occurred in the early hours of that morning.

“This morning around 4am some idiots broke into my office / studio and went thru a hassle just to get next to nothing. I had my grammys there and I know they wanted my jewels but not today champions FOH,” he explained on Instagram.

“I did a freestyle called ‘Crow Bars’ watching the footage of these low life’s going thru my shit smh. If you know these clowns tag em in the comments I got cash for you.”

Accompanied by actual CCTV footage of the break-in, the track finds Hit-Boy recounting the experience and gloating that the criminals “didn’t touch a legend, didn’t touch nothing of worth.”

“They brought crow bars and left with karma / They took my gloves but not my honor / Looked over the Grammys, looked over the gold / And they didn’t touch my kit or my beats or my soul, n*gga,” he defiantly raps over jazzy, horn- and piano-laced production.

The Fontana, California native closes out the song by warning the culprits: “I know one of you bitch-ass n*ggas follow me or something … I’m on you n*ggas, man. Hoe-ass n*ggas. And I’m still icy, still wavy. I’m only getting better and getting stronger.”

“Crow Bars” picks up right where Hit-Boy left off in 2025, which was another productive year for the in-demand producer.

In addition to lacing the likes of Jay Electronica, 03 Greedo, Lefty Gunplay, Jay Worthy and Peezy with heat, the 38-year-old dropped two full-length projects with The Alchemist (Goldfish) and Spank Nitti James (Yeast Talkin’).

But more importantly, 2025 marked the beginning of a new (and long-awaited) chapter in Hit-Boy’s career after he finally got out of an unfavorable publishing deal that he had been locked in since the start of his career almost 20 years ago.

The move, which JAY-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez helped facilitate, meant that Hit-Boy could fully reap the rewards of his hard work.

“I remember getting a text from Hov after [‘N*ggas In Paris’] dropped and he said, ‘If you get me another ‘N*ggas In Paris’ I’ll get you a plane’ jokingly but today I can say he got me something more valuable than a plane or anything tangible,” he wrote on Instagram.

“He helped secure my freedom from an 18 year publishing deal I was stuck in and I can’t thank him enough for pushing that thru. Much appreciation to Desiree Perez for also making this happen the love and respect on my end runs deep and I appreciate all the help frr.”

Hit-Boy added: “Today I am a free man, I feel like i just got out the pen after an 18 year sentence and have a chance to start over with more knowledge than I ever had. my best has yet to be seen God is Great!”
