Thanksgiving is only two days away. I am so excited to get together with my family and friends for a special holiday meal. We’re all cooking something for our fancy Thanksgiving celebration. Now some of you are last-minute shoppers or want to shop for Black Friday deals in-store. If either one of these categories applies to you, you might find yourself in need of some Thanksgiving shopping! Follow along for more information on what’s open and closed on Thanksgiving.
Big Boxed Stores
A lot of your favorite big box retailers are sitting this Thanksgiving out. Stores like Walmart, Sams Club, and Target will not be opening doors this Thanksgiving. That means if you require last-minute groceries or think you’re going to get black Friday deals Thursday night, will need a new plan. Most black Friday specials are already live, and you can shop directly online to get those deals. If you’re needing grocery items from them, I suggest you buy them today or sometime tomorrow before the crowds get crazy.
Grocery Stores
Most of your favorite grocery stores will be open on Thanksgiving. However, they are most likely going to be operating on limited hours. Most of the regional and national chains will open around 6 AM to 7 AM and close around 5 PM or 6 PM. Check with your local grocer for the exact times. Expect the stores to be very busy during those hours. I suggest going right when they open for your best chance of getting in and out of there. Take note that not all grocery chains will be open. A few of your favorite grocery stores that will not be open include Publix, Aldi, and Winn-Dixie.
Black Friday Opening Hours
If you are all about the black Friday deals, don’t worry. There are still a few stores opening early just for you. Walmart and Best Buy will open at 5 AM sharp for those great door-buster sales you know and love. By 6 AM, you can catch Macy’s, Lowe’s, Bath and Body Works, and Home Depot open. A little later in the morning, you can get to your other favorite stores. For the most part, every store will be open on Black Friday, just later than normal.
