Landlord Arrested For Using Roach Bombs to Smoke Out Her Tenants, Including 4-Year-Old Child

Ervyana Davis

Nationwide — Ervyana Davis, a 23-year-old African American female landlord from Nashville, Tennessee, has been arrested after allegedly using multiple bug foggers to drive out a family, including a 4-year-old child, from her apartment while they were still inside instead of going through a legal eviction. The child had to be hospitalized after struggling to breathe.

Davis, who lives in the Nashville area, reportedly tried to remove her tenants. When they refused to leave, she contacted law enforcement. Officers informed her that evictions must go through civil court.

Instead of following that process, Davis allegedly bought several insect foggers and released them inside the apartment while the family was still home. An arrest warrant says she used between five and sixteen foggers, according to Law & Crime.

Soon after the foggers were released, the child began coughing and had trouble breathing. The family rushed the child to the hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.

The Environmental Protection Agency clearly warns against staying inside once a bug fogger is triggered. People and pets should stay out for at least two to four hours. The agency also notes that just one fogger is enough for a 25-by-25-foot room.

Davis was arrested the next day and booked into Davidson County Jail. She faces two counts of felony child abuse and two misdemeanor charges. Her bond was set at $37,000.
