Christian Siriano served sexy curves to Whoopi Goldberg, Brandy, and more at New York Fashion Week. The designer combines color, drama, and body diversity better than anyone else on the CDFA schedule.
Christian Siriano has one of the top runways in New York every season. People fight to try and get invited to his presentation. Crashers line up around the block hoping to see his florals and corsets in real life. They do it for good reason.
A Long Way From Project Runway
His front row is consistently star-studded. This year Kristy Scott, Krys Marshall, Tiffany Haddish, and Billy Porter joined Whoopi Goldberg and Brandy in the center of the row to support the designer’s elegant fairytale inspired collection.
See some of our favorite moments from Christiano Siriano’s Spring/Summer 2027 show below.
1. When Liris Crosse Slayed The Catwalk

Closed mouths don’t get fed. After a Project Runway debacle that showed the need for designers to learn to dress all bodies, OG plus-size model Liris Crosse began to get a ton of attention from the mainstream media. She capitalized on the moment by pitching herself for the Christian Siriano show.
He booked her, styling her in a sexy suited number that showed off her curves excellently. The middle part bust-down, deep neck line and shoulder pads screamed powerful. She did it justice with a legendary walk around Cipriani we’ll be thinking about for a long time.
3. When Tiffany Haddish Popped Out In A Sheer Show-Stopper

The Girl’s Trip star sported a floor-length sheer black dress with a sleek bob. Her abs and confidence were on full display. It was a great look for her. She seemed relaxed and poised.
4. When The Designer Packed A Pink Punch

We loved the consistent drama from the collection. There were ruffles, sequins, and corsets that left us gagged. Our favorite element was the color. Bright pink looks so good on brown skin, and Siriano sent a pair of vibrant pink gowns down the runway that were literally perfect. Their exaggerated sleeves and raised shoulders were feminine and fierce.
5. When The Blown Out Bundles Reminded Us Yaki Is Back

Body diversity wasn’t the only place that Siriano showed a commitment to inclusion. He sent a variety of hair textures down the runway. There were fades, fros and one kinky straight blow out that had us ready to pull out the yaki bundles for our next sew-in appointment.
6. When The Return To Crimps Had Us Ready To Switch It Up
The diversity at Christian Siriano goes beyond the runway. The talent backstage was diverse as well. Legendary hairstylist Lacy Redway added deep crimps to the model’s hair backstage using Tresseme’s Extreme Hold Mousse and flat clips to set them. They might be the perfect way to combat hair fatigue by switching things up without committing to a drastic change.
7. When The Designer Chose To Embrace A Bit Grunge

Siriano took the audience to both sides of the fairytale, from the whimsy of bold florals to the enchanting allure of evil. He sent a black tiered dress down the runway with a huge peplum. You could hear it before you saw it. It was a way to send the story full circle.
