50 Cent has turned everything from music and television to liquor and live entertainment into a business, so naturally, his next move involves rolling the dice — literally.

According to TMZ, the Queens rapper and entrepreneur is partnering with gaming company TCSJOHNHUXLEY to launch 50 Cent Headcrack, a new live casino table game inspired by Cee-Lo, the three-dice street game with longstanding ties to New York City and Hip-Hop culture. The game is scheduled to make its global debut during G2E Las Vegas 2026, taking place Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 at The Venetian Expo.

While Headcrack keeps the three-dice foundation and familiar rolls of Cee-Lo, 50’s version gives the street game a casino makeover. Dealers, official betting structures, side bets, published payouts and casino technology have all been added, along with a Bank-Shooter-Tie format designed to make the game approachable for newcomers. The game is also being developed in both traditional and automated dice formats for commercial casino operators.

And if somebody rolls the magic combination of 4-5-6? That’s a “Headcrack. As 50 explained to TMZ about bringing the game from New York sidewalks to casino floors, it’s essentially: “Same dice, new floor.”

For anyone who grew up around Cee-Lo, the concept should immediately sound familiar. Although the game’s exact origins are debated, documentation of versions of Cee-Lo stretches back to the late 1800s, while the game would eventually become especially associated with New York neighborhoods and flourish in places like Harlem during the 1970’s and 1980’s. Over time, three dice, folded bills and a patch of concrete became part of the scenery in neighborhoods throughout the city.

Rules can vary depending on who is holding the dice, but the basic setup is simple. Cee-Lo is generally played with three dice, with players attempting to beat the banker or each other. A roll of 4-5-6 is an automatic winner, while 1-2-3 is generally an automatic loss. Three of a kind is another strong roll, while landing a pair makes the remaining die your point. Higher points beat lower ones.

Long before 50 started figuring out how to put Cee-Lo under casino lights, Hip-Hop had already made the game part of its language. The Notorious B.I.G.’s relationship with the dice was well documented. His Life After Death collaboration with JAY-Z, “I Love the Dough,” famously opens with a dice-game scene. Years later, Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s Lil Cease recalled that the moment reflected real life, saying Biggie regularly pulled out the dice whenever rappers were around.

Cee-Lo references run much deeper than Biggie, too. Kool G Rap made the numbers synonymous with hustler culture on his 1995 album and song 4,5,6, while Big L built an entire narrative around a Cee-Lo session on “Casualties of a Dice Game,” even using the term “headcrack” while describing his winning streak. Artists including Nas, Jadakiss and others have referenced the game throughout the years, helping turn the sound of three dice hitting concrete into one of Hip-Hop’s most recognizable pieces of street culture.

That same street-level New York imagery was everywhere during Hip-Hop’s golden era, even becoming part of the visual language surrounding records like Tha Dogg Pound and Snoop Dogg’s infamous “New York, New York” video, which was filmed around Brooklyn and Manhattan during the height of the East Coast-West Coast rivalry.

So while adding a casino game to his résumé might initially sound like another unpredictable 50 Cent business move, Headcrack actually makes plenty of sense. Fif is taking something deeply connected to the New York culture that raised him, packaging it for a completely different audience and in very 50 Cent fashion – figuring out how to turn it into another business.
