John Boyega Seemingly Reveals Secret Marriage To Tae Heckard

John Boyega has confirmed he’s been secretly married for nearly two years and has a baby on the way, and a telling social media switch-up is fueling speculation that Tae Heckard is his mystery Mrs.

The Star Wars actor confirmed that he’s been secretly married for nearly two years during an interview with The Guardian, published Tuesday, Oct. 13. Boyega also revealed that he and his wife are expecting a baby boy.

“We got a baby cooking,” Boyega said about his life that is “completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family.”

“It’s been so nice with the timing.”

Although Boyega didn’t explicitly identify his wife, the revelation comes just weeks after he and Tae Heckard seemingly confirmed their relationship through a series of pounded yam proclamations on social media.

John Boyega & Tae Heckard Have Been Dropping Marriage Hints For Months

As BOSSIP previously reported, Boyega, 34, and Heckard, 43, fueled marriage speculation in September when the actor left a flirty comment beneath one of Heckard’s Instagram posts, referring to her as his “lover.”

“So this is why you cook Pounded yam and egusi on Saturdays?? a tactical weapon of mass plan-canceling. I’m onto you lover,” Boyega wrote, referencing the popular Nigerian dish.

The playful exchange was one of several clues suggesting that the famously private pair had quietly tied the knot.

Rumors first surfaced in May after eagle-eyed fans noticed the two wearing what appeared to be wedding bands. Tae has also shared photos featuring a sparkling engagement ring and matching band, further fueling speculation about their relationship status.

The model/ actress, known for her role in ATL, has also hinted at their romance on Instagram.

In one photo carousel, Heckard included an image of herself reflected in Boyega’s sunglasses alongside a cartoon illustration of the couple.

The pair also ONLY follow each other on the social media platform.

Their social media interactions have included some playful banter about shopping together. In one exchange, Boyega joked that Heckard keeps them in Walmart for more than two hours.

Heckard replied, “i love watching you put all my shenannies in the cart. yum.”

John Boyega Says He Bought A Ring From Walmart, Had A Small Wedding

Those Walmart references have taken on new meaning following John’s latest interview. The actor told The Guardian that he spontaneously purchased one of his wedding bands at a local store.

“This is the one we decided to pick up spontaneously because I just wanted the ring on my finger, so we went to Walmart to get this,” he said. “It was a lovely trip to Walmart. Shout out, Walmart Canoga Park!”

Elsewhere in his interview, the actor explained that he and his wife opted for a small wedding rather than a traditional Nigerian ceremony.

However, he hopes to eventually celebrate their marriage with a larger gathering honoring his Nigerian heritage.

“We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry,” he explained. “And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down!”

The actor also reflected on his excitement about becoming a father, noting that he’s creating space for his family amid his demanding Hollywood career.

“I’ve tried to, as much as possible – especially following periods when I’ve worked a lot – to de-centre my career,” he said. “There have been certain moments when I’ve known that this is a time for family. Y’know, there’s stuff to do.”

Tae Heckard Has Changed Her IG Name To “Tae Boyega”

While John has yet to publicly name his wife or address the speculation surrounding Tae Heckard directly, it’s pretty clear that he and Tae’s coupledom is confirmed.

Tae recently changed her Instagram bio to read: “Tae Boyega.”
