Slayyys by the sea!
The illustrious Hampton University continues to thrive as the “Standard of Excellence” with its prestigious pedigree, gorgeous campus, and standard-setting stunners who proved, once again, that they’re the baddest in the land at this year’s viral Homecoming by the Sea in Hampton, Virginia.
In legendary moments that painted the internet blue and white, Hampton’s star-studded ‘Pirate Island’ Homecoming became a viral phenomenon with celebrity guest appearances, epic tailgate festivities, immaculate alumni vibes, and a YACHT–no, seriously. They had a yacht!
With a bigger, bolder and buzzier approach to the annual affair, Hampton, the 5th ranked HBCU on Forbes‘ Top HBCU list, entered the Best HBCU Homecoming conversation with the epically curated extravaganza.
“Hampton University has truly elevated its Homecoming experience. From the yacht festivities and waterfront Reunion Block Party to Pirates Island, which brought out incredible talent like Morris Day and The Time and T.I., we’re officially setting the standard for bringing alumni together for an unforgettable weekend at our Home by the Sea,” said Dani Canada, Hampton University alumna and BOSSIP Managing Editor.
“I especially want to commend our president, Darrell K. Williams, for his leadership and commitment to creating such an enjoyable and memorable experience for both students and alumni. There’s something special about returning to the place that shaped us, reconnecting with fellow Hamptonians, and seeing our university continue to raise the bar.”
“A special thank-you to Mahogany N. Waldon, M.C.M., Director of University Communications, and Matthew White, Assistant Vice President for Alumni Affairs, for welcoming BOSSIP to cover this year’s celebration and helping us showcase the magic of Hampton Homecoming. Hampton is truly a thought sent from Heaven above!”
