If you thought Druski would be on a leash during his historic SNL appearance, you were sadly mistaken.
During his opening monologue, which also featured an appearance from Emma Stone, who will be starring in a rom-com, The Catch, alongside the internet comedian, Druski claimed that SNL gave him a few rules: “no cussing” and no “whiteface,” both of which he joked he couldn’t promise. We found out that he wasn’t kidding.
Later, SNL jumped on the hoopla around Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary, You Can See Everything, adding a different spin on the doc’s origins.
In the skit, before Fielder and Oppenheim jumped in to direct the doc, Druski was originally attached to the project. Jane Wickline portrays Holmes in the skit, while Ben Marshall portrayed Holmes’ husband, Billy Evans. It pokes fun at the close-up shots between Fielder and Holmes where they talked about how Holmes was trying to deceive the filmmaker.
The skit also spoofed the moment when Fielder brought in an actress to play Holmes later in the documentary, with Druski breaking an SNL rule and donning “whiteface” to play the disgraced Theranos CEO.
“I just need to find somebody who can truly embody her character,” Druski says before the camera pans to him dressed up as Elizabeth Holmes. “I’m always being real,” he continues, as Wickline says, “I’m always being real.” They two continue to repeat lines to each other, and Druski adds, “I could do this all day, bitch. You don’t scare me.”
The episode ended with Druski joined by Dave Chappelle, Michael B. Jordan, Chris Rock, Emma Stone, Walton Goggins, and newly elected Texas Senator James Talarico, who also appeared in one of SNL’s cold opens.
Of course, social media had plenty to say about Druski’s SNL appearance; you can see those reactions below.
