AccuWeather predicts a turbulent Atlantic hurricane season in 2025, with 13 to 18 named storms expected, including 7-10 hurricanes and 3-5 major hurricanes. The season is expected to be similar to the devastating 2024 season.

Key factors include warmer-than-average water temperatures in the Atlantic, Gulf, and Caribbean, which could lead to rapid intensification of storms. While El Niño and La Niña are not expected to be present during the first half of the season, a trend toward La Niña could lead to an active end of the season.

The Gulf Coast and the Carolinas are at higher risk of direct impacts. The season may start quickly, followed by a lull, and then a busy end, with the peak of the season around September 10. Other factors, such as the Bermuda-Azores High and weather conditions off the west coast of Africa, could also impact storm tracks and development.
