The legal battle over Malcolm-Jamal Warner’s estate is still going strong, and now the family home is at the center of the latest dispute. Find out where the estate is now amidst the settlement dispute.

According to Complex, Warner’s widow, Tenisha Warner, filed new court documents alleging that the California home she shared with the late actor and their daughter was supposed to go to her and their child. Instead, she claims Warner’s mother, Pamela Warner, sold the Studio City property and moved the proceeds into the trust being disputed in court.

Real estate records reportedly show the Studio City home sold for $1.6 million in May.

Tenisha says the house was more than just another asset. It was the home where her daughter developed important memories with her father before his unexpected death at 54. She also claims Pamela offered her and her daughter a home in Georgia with a $700,000 mortgage, while financial support for the family that had previously come through Warner’s estate was eventually stopped.

Apparently, the two women are still very much not seeing eye to eye on how this should all be handled.

As Yahoo Entertainment reports, Pamela maintains that she tried to settle the dispute privately. She says Tenisha rejected a proposal that would have directed most of the remaining trust and estate assets to Warner’s nine-year-old daughter, MacKenzie. Pamela has since reached an agreement with MacKenzie’s court-appointed guardian and is asking a judge to approve that settlement.

Tenisha, however, says she did not simply refuse to settle. She claims she refused to “capitulate to unfair pressure and tactics.”

The latest fight adds another chapter to a dispute Bossip has been following. In previous coverage, Bossip reported on claims surrounding a proposed $4 million settlement involving Warner’s estate. Tenisha has separately alleged that Warner failed to fulfill financial obligations outlined in their 2022 prenuptial agreement — including maintaining a $1 million life insurance policy and paying her for work she says she performed as his chief of staff and assistant.

Meanwhile, Pamela points to other provisions Warner allegedly made for his family — including a $2 million life insurance policy, a Georgia trust used to purchase a home for Tenisha and MacKenzie, and a retirement account valued at approximately $2.4 million that was reportedly left to Tenisha.

For now, a settlement involving Warner’s daughter has not ended the dispute between his mother and widow. A judge will ultimately have to determine what happens next, leaving the family to sort through Warner’s wishes, his assets, and a legal battle that shows no signs of slowing down.
